[Deep Dive 1] Passive House Goes to Work: Western Canada’s First Office Building to Seek Certification
The Passive House standard is quickly gaining traction in residential buildings, but in North America, so far, the standard has been applied to very few places of work. Charter Telecom, a technology company which operates nation wide, values innovation and employee wellbeing. They are demonstrating these values in their new headquarters in Greater Victoria with a unique and cutting edge building. The exceptional thermal comfort and air quality in a Passive House building is expected to increase staff wellbeing and productivity, and the technical achievements of the building will act as a showcase for innovation that Charter can be proud of when presenting themselves to their customers and the world. This presentation will discuss some of the key considerations for office buildings, as well as talk about the unique challenges and opportunities specific to this building.
